Breathing with pain

Breathing exercise for acute pain, dizziness, nausea and generally any discomfort.

This breathing exercise can be done daily. Especially whenever you have acute pain. It is very simple and can be done by anyone.

1. Run-Through

Breathe in through the nose very slowly. Depending on the size of your lungs, inhalation can take over a minute. We are talking about an extremely slow inhalation. The exhalation is done as your body requires. Then take three deep breaths and rest briefly.

2. Run-Through

Breathe normally until about half of your lungs are filled with air. The second 50% of the lungs are filled very slowly. The point here is to find your personal rhythm. If this is the case, there is a certain negative pressure in the lungs, which you could probably already recognise during the first run. As soon as this negative pressure is created, the pain usually disappears. At the end, take three deep breaths in and out.

3. Run-Through

Repeat cycle 2 until you have experienced an improvement in your complaint, but no more than 10 cycles.

Additional exercise for high blood pressure

Breathing very slowly works wonders for high blood pressure. Within a few minutes, blood pressure can be regulated. You can use a blood pressure monitor to find out your personal correct breathing speed. The next time you measure high blood pressure, please do the following exercise:

Measure your blood pressure while sitting

While lying down, breathe in deeply through the nose and out deeply through the mouth 9 times slowly with your eyes closed

3.

Relax for 3 minutes (a timer is helpful)

4.

Measure the blood pressure again. If normalised, the exercise is finished. If the blood pressure is still too high, repeat steps 2 and 3 again.
